MEET

Salina has been providing compassionate care as a social worker within her community for more than 20 years. She has nearly 10 years of experience working with youth in foster care. It was during that time that she earned a Master of Social Work degree and several years later, earning her licensed in clinical social worker (LCSW).

Salina eventually transitioned into medical and hospice social work and found her passion in Death and Dying and End-of-Life planning. Aside from her enthusiastic personality and inclusive nature, Salina displays a unique understanding of how trauma affects individuals and their families. She provides Motivational Interviewing (MI) education to community providers to ensure the best possible care to clients.  Salina was also an educator for first year Master of Social Work students as an Adjunct Professor at California State University, East Bay for 5 years.

Salina continues to blaze new trails and take on challenges. She recently joined in the death positivity movement by starting an End-of-Life Doula business. She is the founder of Guiding Peace, providing end-of-life and elder care doula services. Salina’s mission is to provide compassionate care and end-of-life planning services to individuals and families to ensure that they have the peace of mind they deserve, while prioritizing their unique cultural needs. Her primary focus is to provide people of color the education and support needed to have a peaceful and natural death that is not traumatic. Salina also provides culturally sensitive bereavement counseling. Salina also provides clinical support to homeless veteran in the bay area.

Salina is warm, open, encouraging, and direct. She hopes her combined experience, education, creativity, and love and respect for others will be her guide while she continues to aid in providing compassionate care and counseling services to individuals within her community.
